This beautiful farm is owned and managed by Luis Pedro Zelaya Aguirre, who bought it in 1995. He receives help from Franklin Quiché (who sees overall activities) and Carlos Patal, who is in charge of daily operations at the farm. This farm has an amazing view, an outstanding arrangement of the plantation to reduce erosion and good agricultural practices, friendly with the environment and safe for their workers. This farm provides jobs for 18 people from surrounding communities. They are all hired legally and have all the benefits that Guatemalan law requires (that includes paid vacation time and healthcare from the government). And that is the same case for seasonal workers (pickers), but seasonal workers can reach to 80 people in peak season of harvest. Buena Vista is the image of perfection: good agricultural practices, fair waves paid, beautiful tasting coffee, beautiful farm, amazing teamwork behind all their operations.
